Assignment 2 Artwork

The Greeting Card

For Assignment 2, we need to create a greeting card for any celebration.
I choose to make a Happy Friendship Day card :D
Lala~ here is my greeting card. Tada! ^_^

The Way I Did My Greeting Card  ^_^

Let me explain it from the very beginning since I dont know where to start 1st :D

1) Since the greeting card will need to be print out in A4 size paper, I set the image size to be A4 also by click File > New > Preset Type : International Paper > Size : A4

2) To change it from vertical to horizontal A4, I just click Image > Rotate Canvas > 90' CW or 90' CCW

3) By double click at the Layer Panel, I unlocked the background image so it is easier to be edit.
4) Using Paint Bucket Tool (G), I painted the background image into Green color.

5) Clicking Filter > Artistic > Film Grain n set the Grain: 4, Highlight Area: 0, Intensity: 10 so that the background wont seem too plain in color. U wont really see the different since I just change it a little. But believe me, there's a different. :D
6) To separate the image into two sections, click View > Ruler to see or calculate the middle of two sides. Then use the Line Tool (U) to make a line as a border between two sides.

7) Using Rectangle Tool (U) to make another background in 1st side of image. I make Group for layers in same place so it easier for me to edit back n not mess up my design.
8) I put the edited frog pic in front the white background n also some grasses by clicking Custom Shape Tool (U) > Shape > Grass 2

9) To make a "Cloud Talk" shape, simply click the Custom Shape Tool (U) > Shape > Talk 1, click n drag it to the suitable size. After that I Warped it to make it a bit different by clicking Edit > Transform > Warp, colored it with green n then lower it's Fill to 33%. I can change the Master Opacity but I wanna use Fill Opacity this time. :D

10) I put some nice words in the "Cloud Talk" shape using the Horizontal Type Tool (T) with Freestyle Script Font, size 26 n nearly Brown in color.
11) The title of the greeting card is also using the same technique with Bickham Script Pro Font, Underlined, size 77.99 pt n Blue in color.

12) To make a Star, owh... I made it in Illustrator since I dont have the tool n it's more easier :D Just click the Star Tool in Tools Panel n then click n drag it to the suitable size. After that transfer it to Photoshop, copy it to make another stars n color it in Yellow.
13) But to make Moon,  in Photoshop, just click Ellipse Tool (U) fill it with Yellow color then make a round shape. To make a Crescent Type Moon, click again Ellipse Tool > Exclude overlapping shape area, overlap it so it would look like "Crescent Moon", Rasterize the layer so it can be edit n using Eraser Tool (E) to erase unwanted image. ;)

14)  The line beneath the star are made with Line Tool (U) with weight of 10 px n Yellow in color. Just copy the 1st line n adjust it as wishes.
15) I type the nice poem using Horizontal Type Tool (T) with Freestyle Script Font, size of 26 pt n color it in Red.

 

16) I put 3 kind of smiley faces (^_^) near the poem to bring out the happy feeling :D Copy each of smiley faces by Layer > Duplicate Layer it all n put it at the other side of poem n simply resize them all with Move Tool (V).
17) The loves that I made from 1st Draft I put it in the left top 2nd side. To make it just use the Custom Shape Tool (U) > Shape > Heart Card type n draw it in Pink.
18) To make it look better, I put frame or "border" at top right n bottom left of 2nd side. After that, Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap to both of it so it look cooler :))

19) I put a teddy bear holding flowers at the bottom right of 2nd side so it wont look empty there. Resize it with suitable size.
20) Lastly I re-edit back n add minus some at here n there to make my completed greeting card.

p/s: Im sorry if ur eyes hurt with Green or any other color. I just cant help it. :D

3rd Consultation of Assignment 2

By today it should be 80% completion of the greeting card.
Im not so sure how much my design right now. hahaha
As you can see, below is my work so far :D

I've edit n add a few things to the card.

I change the font of the word, put the love pic from my 1st rough idea n put white "frame" at 2nd page. :D

I found the nice poem in the internet after searching for a nice words to put in the 2nd page.

2nd Consultation of Assignment 2

I inspired to make this greeting card by a friend of mine.
so, i dedicated this card to my "crazy" friend :))
Green is the theme color as u can see :)
Green is Peaceful, Calm n Nice [actually, that person like GREEN so MUCH]

1st consultation is to see the idea of the greeting card.
I did just roughly n I decided make a Friendship Day card.
I dont really have the idea yet but...

Assignment 1

MMU FOM Open Day 2010

That's the theme for e-wallpaper of Assignment 1.

The final artwork can be seen as below.

Further explanation will  be put up later on.

p/s: haha.. i've stated the wrong year of open day for the e-wallpaper. luckily realize it. re-upload it again at assignment link. :D

The grading for this assignment based on:

> the idea & message of the wallpaper

> the use of tools in making the wallpaper

> the quality of the digital image

> the creative / imaginative / design of the wallpaper

The Way I Did My E-Wallpaper

The Editing of Shape n Pic Part :

1- 1st of all, I Googled for all the pics that i wanted to use, in the internet n started to imagine of the wallpaper design.

2- For background, I like to use clouded sky pic because when we look up at the sky sometimes we did think of many things including our future. Then using the Brightness / Contrast in New Adjustment Layer to make the background look a little bit dark so it not too bright.

3- I put a MMU logo n a TM University logo n simply re-size it using Move Tool (V). It a must to me to put since it's a MMU's Open Day.

4- Before put the Ebee, the MMU mascot on the wallpaper, I used the Quick Selection Tool (W) to selected only the Ebee body instead the whole pic. I've try using the Quick Mask Mode (Q) but I like using the Quick Selection Tool more :D

5- I edited the both pic on the right n left 1st before put it on the wallpaper. Using the Polygon Tool (U), i make 6 sided polygon with the size that I wanted, trace it back using the Polygonal Lasso Tool (L), copy pasted it on the wallpaper n after that re-size it. I copy the mid pic n put it on the wallpaper n re-size it since I think it's just ok that way.

6- I make a Layer Copy of all the 3 pic, changed the Opacity  to 45% n arranged it on the back of the original pic so it would look nicer.

7- To make a "Cloud Talk" shape, simply click the Custom Shape Tool (U), choose the wanted shape at the shape option, click n drag it to the suitable size.

8- The same thing used to make star shape on the upper left corner of the wallpaper plus I colored it using Paint Bucket Tool (G).

9- Lastly, I put on the ledger pic n re-size it the way I wanted n move it to the lower left corner wallpaper.

The Wording Part (Additional) :

1- I'm using the Algerian Font Type with blue color for the word "Faculty Of Management" with word of F,O n M is bigger than the rest n colored black to let others see it a short form of word "Faculty Of Management".

2- Bernard MT Condensed Font Type with white color was used on for the word of "Open day 2010" [accidentally type 2009 n submit it the assignment :)) ] 

3- I made up a quote of "The Day That Open Your Mind To A Better Future" to make people become more interested to attend the open day. Used the Kristen ITC Font Type with red color for the words but Faux Italic the "Better Future".

4- The word of "FOM OPEN DAY" from the Jokerman Font with red color. I'm using the Pen Tool (P) to  make lines so that the word can be wrote such way.

5- The words of "Computer-Based Learning", "Comfortable Classroom" n "Fully Functional Equipment & facilities" used the Vijaya Font Type with black in color, underlined n put under the pictures to descript it all.

6- In "Cloud Talk" shape, the words of "21 March 2010", "FOM Lecture Hall 1" n "From 9 am to 5 pm" are using the Bernard MT Condensed Font Type with blue n black color. The FOM website is using the Kristen ITC Font Type with red in color.

7- All the course offer in the FOM were written in Time New Roman Font Type with black in color on the ledger pic.

I'm using the color fonts of black, white, blue n red respect of the colors used in MMU logo. ^_^

p/s: i realize another more thing that I put the wrong sky cloud pic in the reference folder n sent it. :))

My Tuto 5 Artwork

The tuto 5 is about Retouching the Old Portrait.

The original pic as below.

The 1st thing to be done is adjust the angle of the pic.

Im using the Move Tool (V) from the Tools Panel to adjust it.

There no big difference since I adjusted it a little :D

I desaturated it so the pic be black n white in color using the Desaturate in Layer Adjustment.

Then, I crop the pic in size that I wanted using Crop Tool (C) in Tools Panel.

Using the Clone Stamp Tool (S) in Tools Panel, all the unwanted images in the pic being covered.

The teeth was also being fix so it looks better in my eyes :D

Im not really good in art, the stamping was not so good :))

I spending a lot of time in coloring the pic back.

By making a new layer n then using Rectangle Tool (U) in Tools Panel to select the part that i wanted to put color n after that erase it using Eraser Tool (E) in Tools Panel.

Using also the Brightness/Contrast at Layer Adjustment to make pic look better.

After fixing a few things, the result of my artwork shown as below.

So, U can see the pic before n after i edited it ;)

I dont know it's ok or not to be submit..

Im still learning to be better in PS :P

My Tuto 4 Artwork

It's all about learning using the Photoshop Software. ^_^

For tuto 4, i've been told to do a Photo Retouching.

Photo Retouching is all about fixing pictures into a better one.

Picture below is the original example that need to retouch. huhu..

 

The swimmer is to shy so I need to clear him up from the picture.

Also, the word "viewimages" need to be clear because we do not want to view it.

So, below is the result after I clear it all using the Clone Stamp Tool, shortcut key is "S".

I know it's not that good compare to others when using the Clone Stamp Tool but it's ok to me :))

After that im trying playing with the Color Balance in Layer Adjustment n this is the result. :D

Lastly I add text of "Hawaii" n  "The Land Of Aloha" in the picture as below.

The word of "The Land Of Aloha" is not so good when view in small size.

My Tuto 3 Artwork

Pic above is my artwork for Tuto 3 of Computer Graphic 2.

I was told by Madam Lydia to design face using the computer parts.

Maybe because im the one who design it, but still, i really like to see it again n again. :))

I just cut n paste all of the computer pics into (Photoshop)PS n simply edit it 1 by 1 n then combine it together by layers.

Im using the parts of :

CPU fan for the hat,

Keyboard for the eyebrows,

USB Hub for the eyes,

Webcam for the nose,

A part of CD back for mouth,

Part of headphone for ear,

LCD monitor for the face/head

Caa...
